Rehab Innovation created the Profilo Line in response to the market's need for a bathroom product range providing safety, comfort and indipendence for individuals who have lower endurance or difficulties standing in the shower or bath: the elderly, disabled, people with temporary disabilities, pregnant women, etc.
The Profilo's innovative design, adjustable modular system, optional accessories and range of colours allow the user to tailor the product to suit both her/his individual and environmental needs. The 'Profilo' name originated with the Rehab Innovation's unique design of the aluminium tubing, present in every element of the line which makes assembly easy. The unique design of the variuos elements makes the whole line coordinate. Rewards The Profilo line has been selected for year 2004 by the "Osservatorio Permanente del Design" (The Association of Permanent Design Observation) promoted by ADI (Italian Design Association) under the section of "Assets for the community". The jury of the prize "Comfort & Design 2004" has conferred a merit to the Profilo line for innovation and environmentally friendly use. The Profilo line has been picked for its innovative design by the Institute of technological assistance for the disabled (FTB) in occasion of the Rehacare International 2003. |

 When there is a need for extra care…
The Profilo Care line has been designed for users with impaired mobility. The aim is to offer a soft polyurethane seating system which can embrace the user with maximum comfort. The highest risk which must be prevented is skin breakdown. The seat units have been designed expanding the seating surface and allowing dispersion of pressure. The groves present on the seat facilitate drainage of water and help avoid skin damage due to over-soaking. Special attention has also been given to provide a low friction and shear environment. The material used offers a smooth sliding surface without compromising stability. Another important aspect which has been taken into consideration has been hip stability. This is achieved by designing the seat unit thicker and higher to the front, stopping the user from sliding forwards. The planning of the shapes has focused on the dynamics during transfers from the wheelchair to the various seating aids in the bathroom environment and viceversa. The smooth surface of the bath seat lateral supports offer a wide and flat surface useful especially to user who have difficulty standing and who often drag their pelvis along the seat unit. The slope between the front and rear of the seat unit smoothens out to the sides to come to level with the side supports. |
